Enough of the Trashing of America and Americans!

Here's another wonderfully condescending quote by Sarah Seltzer in her column, 16 of the Dumbest Things Americans Believe -- And the Right-Wing Lies Behind Them, as published in AlterNet:

“Americans are often misinformed, occasionally downright dumb, and easily misled by juicy-sounding rumors.”

More America and American Trashing:

David Graham of Newsweek  writes an article entitled “America the Ignorant”.

Bill Maher describes Americans as “stupid” every chance he gets.

Patricia Cohen in the New York Times: “Dumb and Dumber: Are Americans Hostile to Knowledge?

Now, I don't know these people personally. I've never had a one-on-one argument with any of them, so I have not had the interaction necessary to make a personal assessment of their intelligence, or lack thereof. But they are willing to judge an entire country's populace as ignorant, stupid and dumb, based apparently on a difference of opinions.

In other words, some of us don't want the left-leaning socio-political factions to control the rest of us. Funny thing is, most Americans value the freedom and independence that gives opportunities to all honest and honorable people.

So if the choice being offered is simple-minded freedom or intellectual slavery, don't be surprised when most people choose freedom.

Tea Bagging – what it means

The following is an adult article, containing sexually explicit terminology. Children should not be exposed to its content.

I’m really getting tired of, and angry at, hearing the phrase "tea baggers" in reference to people who are involved in the Tea Party movement. People who know what it refers to, and use it intentionally, should be ashamed. For those who don’t know what it means … I’m going to explain it.

Tea bagging refers to a sexual act in which a male places his scrotum (ball sac, nuts, cods, family jewels, gonads, etc.) into the mouth of his sexual partner. Wikipedia has further explanation with a graphic representation of the act. See it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tea_bag_(sexual_act)

So when writers, broadcasters and bloggers call those in the Tea Party movement "tea baggers", they are calling a large group of people "scrotum suckers". Real classy, huh?

So if you’ve been using the term just because you’ve heard it repeated so often, and it seems the trendy thing to say, maybe you should rethink it. To continue using it after you know its meaning is to admit that you are a spiteful, sophomoric boor who should receive neither credibility nor respect.
